Saint John River
Early Spring Canoe Trips
Maine's Saint John River provides excellent early
spring canoe trips for the outdoor enthusiast.
Paddle and camp the longest free flowing river in the eastern US. With water
flow at its highest during the spring freshet the St John offers its best
paddling conditions from the 1st of May to the 1st week in June.
Expect plenty of whitewater and solitude along this famous river's 120 miles which
starts at 5th St. John Pond and continues north to Allagash Village. Class I to
Class III rapids are found during the rivers course. Class II & III rapids
provide a thrilling end to a weeklong adventure on this scenic Maine river.
